Toyota Prius Hybrid Car with Faulty Brakes

The Toyota’s most promotion Hybrid car; the Prius is now facing a bunch of complaints on its Antilock Braking Logic. But the fact to be noticed is that fascinatingly, the complaints wander around the 2010 model only.

The gripe about Prius is that when the brake is helpful in approximate roads like bumpy or icy roads, here occurs a jerking and an unexpected acceleration is done just for less than a second. Spokesperson from Toyota have already admitted this and are blaming on the software that is life responsible for the gripe.

Really the jerking happens in view of the fact that of the lack in slowing down very than of the real acceleration. Some others complain about the inconsistency of the brakes when in need to apply at a snail's pace and steady on approximate or polished roads all owing to ABS is activated for the footing of the tire. Normally the ABS act and react as the hegemony logic deals on the tire slippage.

As the 2010 Prius only is below the knife, Toyota will not retract the exact models as they did for their additional models before, any the baffle mat capture or the sticky pedal may be recalled.

As NHSTA has stanch to start Preliminary Evaluation all ears on owner complaints of the Prius braking logic, Toyota will cooperate with them and will indeed keep well-informed about the progress in their activities hostile to the complaints.

TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) reveals the initiation of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which is a plug-in translation of the third-age assemble “Prius” gasoline-gripping hybrid vehicle. They have a plot to launch around 600 vehicles in US, Japan, and Europe all owing to the mid 2010 for regime and businesses, and would perfectly give up the manufactured goods for customers in another 2 being.

Prius plug-in hybrid comes in its brand of Set alight Blue Mica Hard body and high glossy silver side mirror; doors handles and trim around rear ticket plate. TMC uses Lithium-ion battery for the first time and you can normally use the household gripping outlet to payment the vehicle. This plug-in hybrid would flaunt 12-14 miles of EV array, and once the battery potential depletes, the vehicle runs with gasoline. The price of Prius plug-in hybrid seems to be cheaper than Chevy Volt, but Volt would offer 40 miles of EV array. But, the real depiction comes only when the vehicle is launched in t he market. Let’s wait and watch.

Toyota Industries Corp has intended to grab the immense energy from the Sun to develop Charging Stations for its eco-friendly Toyota Prius models. They will be establishing 21 solar potential rank for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs) and gripping vehicles (EVs), with the early testing of the chargers in the Toyota City in Aichi County, Japan. Toyota will deploy charging stations in Toyota City at 11 uncommon locations including teach stations, Municipal office, arm offices, etc. These solar charging stations would make use of solar panels furnished on the roof that would flaunt solar energy to the potential dock. Here is also an selection to store the energy in a solar photovoltaic logic to potential the vehicles.

You may wonder, what would take place all owing to a gray day? Toyota has dominated the time-flattered do and is employing a potential grid tie into the charging logic in case of unavailability of Sun. Toyota will most probably finger this thought all owing to April 2010. So, let’s start the countdown.

Deny questioned:

I am compelling into account purchasing a 2001 Toyota Prius, automatic, with 113,000 miles on it. The price is inane to be $7,000 not including tax, regime fees, etc. etc.

Kelly Blue Book says the equivalent car is value $9,000.

I’m really wondering how excellent the Hybrids have held up over the being, what I can guess maintenance wise, and if it’s even value export this car. The dealer (who was effective with… well, I guess “top surprise” english) said that they installed a “strain new hybrid” while we were looking below the hood. I can only take upon yourself that earnings they recently replaced the battery which I’ve read in additional places that becomes a problem with 100,000 miles.

Any additional issues I must be aware of? Any suggestions or questions I must question the dealer? I’m certainly inane to get a Carfax report before I hold the car but I’m inane to have to pay for that for For myself and on top of that I’m subdue in the negotiating stages. If all goes well, I’m looking to hold the car tomorrow!

I have test obsessed the car so no issues here. I didn’t feel anything weird but admittedly I wouldn’t above all know what to look for.

Any suggestions?

Kevin S questioned:

Alright, I’ve done a TON of investigate, I’m now looking for a new vehicle to use primarily for commuting. A hybrid just makes the most implication, based on MPG. I’m compelling into account three models here, the Toyota Prius, the Honda Civic Hybrid, and the Ford Fusion Hybrid. My basis for comparing them is much more than just MPG, the Prius has the most MPG. Each car has similar protection tests, similar facial appearance unfilled (Navigation logic/ XM Telephone logic/ Leather seats) so it’s kinda tough selecting a car.

They are all similarly priced so price isn’t a huge deal.
Prius Pros: Splendid MPG, Toyota Name (Reliable), Splendid facial appearance
Prius Cons: Terrible treatment, rear spoiler obstructs view

Civic Hybrid Pros: Midpoint MPG, Honda Name (Reliable), Sweet excellent facial appearance
Civic Hybrid Cons: Alright treatment, facial appearance weakest in car

Fusion Hybrid Pros: Best facial appearance, Splendid treatment
Fusion Hybrid Cons: Smallest amount MPG, Ford Name (Unreliable apparently)

Which car must I choose? Also, I’ve always been a Toyota/Honda guy, but I’m open to anything. I’ve heard that Fords break down, and in the long run they’re just not excellent cars. (EX: Brakes go out ahead of schedule, etc) Is this right, or has Ford altered?

Paul questioned:

Hi! I am in the market to buy a used car and over the last couple of days I did some serious amount of investigate on couple of cars. But the car that spellbound my eye is Toyota Prius (2001 model for only $4500!) I reflect for that price it’s a deal. But when I told me friends they told me about some drawbacks of a hybrid car. They told me that–

1) In view of the fact that hybrids are new, I can’t get them repaired in an run of the mill mechanical shop. I have to go to Toyota dealers in order to get the car repaired, in case I run into any problem.
2) The battery of a hybrid car goes terrible surrounded by 1 year or two or by 200k. But the largest concern is that the battery is EXTREMELY pricey (about $2000-$3700).
3) DMV doesn’t handle hybrids as fixed cars. It takes about 1 week to two to get the ticket plate for hybrids while the fixed cars take only 2-3 days.
4) Parts for the hybrids are EXTREMELY pricey and they are very hard to find.

So, my questions are:
Are those myths right??
Must I buy a Prius or go with Honda civic (2001 model) or corolla (2001 model) or Toyota ECHO (2002 model)??

Tyson J questioned:

Did you know that the factory that produces a hybrid car’s battery adds more pollutants to the air than if you were to handbook a fixed car? Driving a hybrid not only doesn’t save the plants, it also gives you less potential (except it’s a Lexus).
dana1981-

0-60 in 10 seconds?! You’ve got to be effing kidding me. A Toyota Yaris will do that in less time. Hybrids, excluding Lexus, are not powerful in the smallest amount.
BTW, Lexus hybrids have WAY more potential than your everyday hybrids. The smallest amount powerful Lexus is the RXh has 268. The most powerful Lexus has, if you can judge it, 438 horsepower. A Toyota Prius has something like 79 horsepower. Lexus hybrids are designed more for potential and sterile emissions very than fuel consumption.

ok so i have a 2006 toyota prius, i have a alpine 450 amp in my car right now, i want to get a larger amp, when i first place the amp in here, a community audio store that installed it said i had to be carefull in view of the fact that they thought prius’s have a smaller 12v battery disparate additional habitual cars. so i was told to not run my subs for a long time without driving the car (driving car charges battery) otherwise the amp may maybe suck all the potential out of my battery importance i would have tp jump start it. but just owing to time i reflect that their guess was incorrect and my battery is more then capable of at the bottom of a larger amp, if anyone
has any info at all that may maybe help i would greatly be thankful for it.

also just to clarify i am discussion about the fixed 12v battery that are in all cars. not the hybrid battery.
