JOE questioned:

As far as I unwritten, the Japanese have a law that states that Japanese cars (JDM) must not more than 280 HP. This is to hegemony pollution and boost fuel efficiency. Then how’s it possible that the new Nissan GT-R (more than 400 hp) is sold and obsessed in Japan. Is it that they have uncommon rules for exotic sports cars or have they altered the 280hp law?

How much feul efficiency is lost in oldish cars running on E10?

fuel efficiency

Cogent questioned:

E10 is 90% Gasoline and 10% Ethanol.
I read that:
“If habitual automobiles can go more miles on 9 tenths of a gallon of pure gasoline, than they can on 1 gallon of E10 made up of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline, then forcing E10 ethanol on all customers is the essential scam. Taxpayers are forced to place 10% ethanol in their fuel only to realize a 10% to 20% net loss in fuel mileage!”
Is this proclamation right? Do ‘habitual’ car’s receive that much of a fall in fuel efficiency? I can’t find any references.
What is the probable fuel state loss in lets say a 7 year ancient car? (or a ‘X’ year ancient car where X is the average age of cars obsessed in the USA.)

Plug-in hybrids will use batteries for city travel, and so they will seem to be cleaner vehicles than typical gasoline engines, but they will use potential from the grid, which may be coal-fired, or oil-obsessed (or in some cases hydro, nuclear or additional). So would they be better or of poorer quality for the background than E85 hybrids (which can use 85% ethanol, but in many cases would use less)?

Note: I don’t handbook; just looking for the lesser of two evils for the fleeting-term possibility auto-disadvantaged populace!
