lmf7000 questioned:
As you know, when you start the engine, the starter motor draws a very generous current (around 200A or more) for a fleeting time cycle. My question is, how long will the engine have to run to completely replenish all the payment the battery has lost in starting?
Speaking of which, how long will the car take to give a new lease of life a dead starting car battery (where “dead” earnings 80% left over payment, for a habitual lead acid starting battery)

Forests are life apparent-cut to make room for undeveloped corn and palm oil.
Compact flourescent set alight bulbs are filled with very perilous chemicals such as mercury, contain a lot of fake (made from oil), and use more energy to make.
Ethenol emissions from vehicles have been found to be very terrible for your affect. Here are simular concerns about biodiesel, but those studies are subdue ongoing.
The batteries in hybrid cars are filled with perilous chemicals that we cant fingure out what to do with.
Our intentions are excellent… but it seams like we are doing more harm then excellent with our current environmental movement.
Must we go back to excellent, sterile unleaded gasoline and incadescent lightbulbs?
Why do planes fly as high as they do?
Paul E questioned:
I be thankful for it’s safer and here’s less air-resistance privileged up. But, wouldn’t the thinner air grant less thrust? I infer it’s a trafe off of all these factors. So may maybe planes glide privileged than they do? Is the current cruising height the optimal combination of protection and fuel efficiency/

Do car alternators adapt to the amount of electricity demand?

marchasnone questioned:
In additional words, if one did not use telephone logic, illumination, etc., may maybe they theoretically boost fuel efficiency in view of the fact that the alternator does not have to “work as hard” to generate gripping?
Or, does the alternator place the same overhead on the engine no matter what?
Thankfulness!
In set alight of the first few posts: I be with you that the voltage valve will diminish the amount of current sent to the battery if here is less load on the logic. But does this really translate to less resistance when the alternator is twisted?
Also, the flux-capacitor-no matter what pledge made no implication…

Would you mind driving a small 3 wheeled vehicle in the city?
Jesse questioned:
I’m an industrial top apprentice, and I’m crafty an Inner-city vehicle. The current thought is to make a very small two seater car, that’s low to the ground, with two wheels in the adjoin, and one in the back. The top of this vehicle is to be very quick, interval efficient, and fuel efficient. A car to nearly exclusively handbook in the city. The engine would be similar to a dirt bike engine, maybe hybrid gripping.
So the questions are:
What do you want in an Inner-city vehicle? and,
Does this thought signal excellent to you?

I handbook about 13,000-14,000 miles a year. My main business is – I’ve heard that export a new car that is fuel efficient doesn’t “pay for itself” in fuel savings in a lot of circumstances. I want to know if I’m in that boat.

Chi Guy questioned:
Of course not ALL fed positions would be able to use current hybrids but many can. Must they start retiring gas only vehicles and phase in hybrid/gripping vehicles.

Improving Efficiency of PEM fuel cell catalyst?
a_chamarthy questioned:
Ciao all,
I’m doing a knowledge project related to humanizing efficiency of proton chat membrane (PEM) fuel cells / sinking expenditure of manufacturing PEM fuel cells.
I’m specifically attracted in developing a more efficient vehicle as opposed to platinum. I have a PEM fuel cell; I got it as part of a fuel cell car kit.
Now, I’m not keen to waste much cash. I have a multimeter – what I’m wondering is what kind of experiment may maybe I top (with some household-hold bits and pieces or some moderately low-cost ones at some electronics store) to boost the efficiency of the current platinum vehicle?
Thankfulness alot.

In the last six months, my fuel expenditure have risen $100 a week, copy to near 20 hours of net income, when you apportion the total number of hours I run by the how much cash (including tips) I have left with expenses each week. Except here is a valid wits to rush, I’m doing 55 in the 65mph zones on the freeway. I’m being paid to know the right hand lanes real well.
