jp l questioned:
Why they promote corn and additional grains as sources as a substitution for sugarcanes which have at smallest amount 3X more efficient ethanol? Why use something will erode soil with the need of bounty of fertilizers while sugarcane only demand modest? Are they really for the background or just plain green? Perhaps they really work for fossil-fuel corporations to prevent ethanol efficiency compelling over?
How long will a pedigree chicken live?
Pferdefan questioned:
I have an ancient history chicken (a German breed called a Blau Sperber). I reflect she is about 10 now. She is subdue fit and healthful and even if she never really laid many eggs, subdue produces and odd shaped modest business now and then.
I have 6 chickens in total, but no cockerel. The others are a motley crew of rescued battery birds, ill-treated ones and 2 childish top of lay hybrids.
They have access to an wood of about half an acre which they impart with my 2 ancient rescued sheep, but have all learnt to hop owing to the fencing and parade around the total farm.
I feed diverse corn, oyster bombard and layers pellets, and they pick up all else outside.
Don’t anyone dare say “until I ring her neck” or some no matter what. My birds are pets and not commercially kept animals.
They only place here when they have to be place down, or die of natural causes!
E85. Which engines can run it, what is its combustibility and efficiency in comparison to diesel or gas?

sk8erguy181 questioned:
E85 is often cheaper than fixed gasoline, but apart from knowing that it has to do with ethanol and is made from corn, I have no thought what it is. Will habitual engines run it(is a conversion looked-for)? Is it very efficient as regards fuel mileage?
Is being “bio-friendly” doing more harm then good?

Mike questioned:
Forests are life apparent-cut to make room for undeveloped corn and palm oil.
Compact flourescent set alight bulbs are filled with very perilous chemicals such as mercury, contain a lot of fake (made from oil), and use more energy to make.
Ethenol emissions from vehicles have been found to be very terrible for your affect. Here are simular concerns about biodiesel, but those studies are subdue ongoing.
The batteries in hybrid cars are filled with perilous chemicals that we cant fingure out what to do with.
Our intentions are excellent… but it seams like we are doing more harm then excellent with our current environmental movement.
Must we go back to excellent, sterile unleaded gasoline and incadescent lightbulbs?
What is the energy efficiency of Biofuels?
bek_J66 questioned:
Biofuels are now life touted as a green uncommon to fossil fuels. Ethanol is bent from biological equipment such as sugarcane or corn. How is ethanol bent as a biofuel (compound methods/biotechnology) and how energy efficient is it?
Thankfulness

I am really attracted in a car that runs on E85 and is a plug-in hybrid.
Anything out here or in development???
Dana….Brazil’s uses Honey Cain based Ethanol. Isn’t this better than corn for now? Cellusolsic ethanol is subdue a ways off, right?

Portis questioned:
What contaminates more? A fuel powered car, or a battery powered car?
Even thought an gripping energy car does not generate CO2 to the ambiance, the administer of making batteries, and the administer of making gripping energy to give a new lease of life those batteries is greatly spiteful.
Also the administer of disposing an gripping car battery as huge to potential a car“s engine is also very hazardous to the background.
The hydrogen making administer to potential hydrogen engines is also greatly spiteful, even if the car does not start any CO2 emissions.
The production of ethanol, makes the food prices boost, and generous areas of soil are looked-for to plow corn for making ethanol. If this equipment is used, we need a sincerely huge amount of interval to meet the demand, contributing to deforestation, especially in Brazil.
What do you reflect about all this?

jamie68117 questioned:
What are some uncommon ways that cars can run without gasoline? I know I’ve heard public talk about making cars run out of something made out of corn, and I’ve heard of solar-powered cars.
What additional methods are engineers exploring to help store up oil?
