fuel efficiency

Scythian1950 questioned:

Even agreed that automatic transmissions have spellbound up with manual transmissions in fuel efficiency, cost (being paid here), and acceleration, it seems to me that you’re sacrificing hegemony, letting it make decisions for you. I know that public would like an superfluous hand to run additional errands in the car, but I’m not one that wants that superfluous hand very much. Also, normal of automatics consistently degrade from strain new until it’s time for a foremost service, when manuals offer fixed normal until the clutch starts to give out.

    less manel work

Ever try to analogous park climbing in San Francisco? That’s why automatics are better.

  3. chaska says:

in view of the fact that with auto transmissions you can hegemony the car the way you want and it is frequently simpler to handbook.

  4. Random Precision says:

Automatics are just a convenience. If you like to budge, get a stick. I like an automatic in a car, but wouldn’t deliberate it on a dirt bike.

  5. bujiboy says:

i like my manual. so much fun to handbook. will never go to automatic

  6. keri_23062 says:

If you live in a high conveying town, using a clutch in stop and go conveying gets grating.

Also, lots of public never gather to use an automatic…

  7. snef94 says:

In MT you have to batter gears from 29MPH – 30MPH & 59 – 60MPH and so on, disparate AT

  8. brite tiger says:

Less leg/foot work and it’s not that it’s automatically better, but a matter of confidential preference. Also, for the less cooridinated amoung us, it is far better.

Here not I like the feel of a manual I have never liked life told what gear at what speed I quess public just got bone idle or maybe stupid

I too prefer manual transmission for the most part.
But automatic is better in stop-and-go conveying on hills. Not only is it simpler, but less wear-and-tear on the clutch.
Also, some public have corporal conditions that make the clutch harder to use, or it can yield back pain or sacroiliac pain in some those.

LOL at joey k. Anyways, Automatics are fun bvecause you can be more bone idle. In a manual, but, you save gas. Lots.

Bottom line: It isn’t, and I didn’t hear anyone say it was. Perhaps a better question would be “Which is better, automatic or manual transmission?”

The the anwer would be a definate “It depends on your wants.”

  13. silverback487 says:

It depends on the driver. All cars have their tribulations…in any case of make or model. Automatic transmissions are now very sophistocated pieces of machinery.

Automatic transmissions, when serviced appropriately and obsessed correctly start better normal, gas milage and dependability. Be precise. Most dealerships (sales-public and service reps) will tell you incorect ways of driving and servicing transmissions (their way of effective on a tranny is to pull it out and exchange it with a factory remanufatured model).

Find a excellent transmission shop, question if here are any updates they can do (many transmissions have updates in the valve body that are low-priced, yet greatly boost normal). Depending on your driving, question about a transmission cooler and apropriate service schedule.

When used and maintained correctly, now’s automatic transmissions greatly hit manuals (I don’t know about you but I have found few public who handbook standars without raping the clutch or ruining synchronizing forks).

If you have any questions my best friend owns a transmission shop and he would be gald to help you out.

One benefit of having a automatic is making it simpler for resale. The generous margin want automatics. Except the car is sporty I reflect the auto would be simpler to re-sell.

    it’s a preference business.
