Did you know that you can save fuel and run your car on water

hybrid vehicles

Penmate asked:

After OPEC slashed output by 1.5 million barrels despite the world going into a recession, I want to thank them by buying a hybrid or electric car… indeed, OPEC will prolong the recession and oil prices will continue to plummet…

Nothing in the 2009 model year.

    The Toyota Prius is close.

In the 2010 model year the Chevrolet Volt. This is a plug-in hybrid that is nothing like the current hybrids. On short trips of 40 miles or less, it doesn’t use any gas. After 40 miles, a small motor connected to a generator keeps you going. Unlike current hybrids, the motor is not connected to the drive wheels. The drive wheels are completely electric.

For short trips less than 40 miles, the car is plugged into a common 110 volt electrical outlet to charge the batteries.

Seeing as you can buy a 1980′s Honda CRX and get over 50mpg, in fact, around 60mpg……

Why would you want to buy a 2009 car that doesn’t come close? Forget a hybrid. Or any other expensive car. A CRX costs less than 1,000$ in decent shape, is cheap to maintain, and uses practically no gas at all…..

    That’s just the simple facts.
