Did you know that you can save fuel and run your car on water

My girlfriend drives a toyota prius , she’s really into the whole saving the enviroment thing and i adore that, and it really is a perfect car; great gas, no troubles or problems, with about 61 thousand miles on it. the only problems is that it’s really quiet almost silent, so sometimes my g/f forgets to turn it completely off and instead leaves it half way on/.off, and the batteries gets drained.
Yes and no. The up front costs take a long time to recover. The Honda Accord is more go than mileage. The Prius has good mileage but sufferers from a few idiosyncrasies that take getting used to. The Camry is probably the best at mimicking a gas car. The Civic is a close second.
I hate the prius. It reminds me of a space shuttle
We have a Prius. It’s a wonderful car, hybrid or not. Lots of room, very comfortable, good enough performance. It gets mileage somewhere in the mid-40s, which is better than my motorcycle.
When we bought it (several years ago) it wasn’t much more expensive than most cars of its size, if any. So it’s not like we paid more to save gas. I believe they are more expensive now, but not ridiculously so. It’s been very dependable and reliable, but you expect that in a Japanese car anyway.
The batteries are guaranteed for 100,000 miles. After that there might be some cost to replace them. Whether that cost is worth the savings in gas still remains to be seen. But gas has doubled in price since we bought it and will probably go up more in the next few years.
I am not an hybrid owner and would not become one today. I recently sold a Toyota Echo that was giving me 45 mpg. Why should I pay so much more for just a few more mpg? And not so long ago we had cars that were getting better mileage that what we get today. What happened to them?
And who killed the electric car? Definitely worth watching the movie of the same name.
We sold our Echo to go Frybrid all the way and we average 400mpg (of diesel). We already had a Mercedes Benz that we converted about 2 years ago and we got a Ram 2500 because of the towing capacity and the need of a PU truck. Diesel vehicle are harder to find and more expensive if you buy new but I have no problem with the right used diesel. Not to mention that you would void the warranty by doing the conversion. Mercedes will go to 4-500,000 miles if you treat it right and get the right model. My Dodge Ram has a Cummins engine and that’s a company that has been in the Diesel business a long time and has an excellent reputation. I once had a big truck with a Cummins with over 700,000 miles on it.
I realized some people will not want to have to deal with used cooking oil and that fine. You can still use bio-diesel. It may not be any cheaper than regular diesel but, at least, it is a lot greener.
You also forgot about the Escape hybrid, an SUV that gets up to 36 mpg.
