Did you know that you can save fuel and run your car on water

fuel efficiency

Fluffs asked:

Can anyone explain why is diesel more expensive than normal petrol?
I also believe it takes less to manufacture or refine but it cost more, why?
Would it not help the farmers, truck drivers and the economy if Diesel cost or Tax was less.
Diesel cars are also shown to be more fuel efficient, why is it not encouraged by reducing the tax or cost of them.
Import and Government Taxes, licensing, Stamp duty, transfer fess, tyres, parts and other cost of a vehicle and running cost should be based on fuel efficiency.

I agree with you 100 percent and it is cheaper to make out of crude oil than gasoline — essentially, it is less refined — and so, theoretically, it should be cheaper at the pump.

    But………..

Worldwide demand seems to be the clincher. For various reasons, the overseas hunger for diesel fuel is growing more vigorously than for gasoline.

because diesel is the “cash cow”. They make more off of it and it’s a lot harder for the truck drivers or farmers to stop using the fuel than it is for the normal every day Joe. So users of Unleaded are more temperamental and more prone to switch or stop driving as prices increase. Truckers can’t do anything about it but charge more for moving their loads and continue to pay the higher prices. .
