i do the same thing,i do it because diffrent grades of gas more or less water in fuel.i use heet twice in winter 1 in summer to releive water from tank, occasional water in fuel causes hard starting, rough ideling, stalling, and a .the lack of these has to help right.fuel efficency yes,no water or contaminates, quicker throttle response.so yes and yes.happy trails

no gas is about 8 lb a gallon any weigh takes away your mpg average and weigh wears out your tires and engine you should never let it get below half tank in case of emergence. ie flood, earthquake. you may not b able to get gas.or it might go up to $5or6 a gallon i have 30 years in cars.

If you do refill at halfway, there is less room in the tank for condensation to form. You will have less water in the tank from condensation. Every so often, however, you should run it to near empty to prevent the fuel gauge's pickup sensor from sticking. Also, if the price of gas spikes, you only have half of a tank to fill.

Actually its better to keep a full tank. You get less condensation like that hence less rust in fuel system.

Fuel economy savings are approximately 1-2% per hundred pounds---operating with half tank or less may provide a slight benefit in fuel consumption as will removing any extra unnecessary weight. Gas weighs about 6 lbs. per gallon.

Its good on your fuel pump for not letting it get empty. But really its doesn't help your fuel efficiency, its just that when a car gets to a half tank, the tank is smaller at the bottom and it seems to be used faster. To get better performance out of your car, check your air filters, tire pressure, and the tune up on it!

Negligible. Saves you the inconvenience of possibly running out. The downside is that there is a tiny loss of efficiency due to toting around the weight of additional fuel, but that is less than the weight of even one additional passenger.

I can't imagine that it would make a difference. The tank doesn't have anything to do with how your car runs. But then, if it keeps you calmer knowing that you're never in dire need of filling up, you probably drive better. :)

No difference.

Though it is a good habit to never let it get very low as the fuel pump uses the gas to cool off the pump. The lower the level of fuel, the less gas available to recirculate and cool the pump.
