Can i convert my ‘97 Camry to a hybrid? Using the engine and battery from a wrecked hybrid?

Did you know that you can save fuel and run your car on water

hybrid battery

camtheman123 questioned:

Ive seen a few wrecked older Honda Insight hybrids for $2-3000. would i be able to just drop in the engine and drivetrain? even if i place all the gears in (dashboard, ECU, etc) will it be able to take the camrys consequence? is it value it?
im thought i can get the engine and parts for around 1200. and my camry gets about 20 Mpg now. not excellent. the modest insight gets like 60 mpgs. what mileage would i get if i do this succesfully?

No, here is so much more to it than just swapping some parts. Except you have an engineering top in this field, do not touch it, you will fry yourself with over 10000 volts

It is completely possible if the domestic combustion, gripping engine and particular transmission are intact. The swap will be complicated and the Li-Ion battery is very heavy but not impossible to swap. You will also have reasonably a few computers and sensors to take out and reinstall. As far as life electrocuted. You may maybe basically face the same amount of voltage if you were to take out a flash plug and try to start the car, but, except you are in a leading light it does not have the amperage to hurt you…. just jolt you a modest. Just make sure the battery has been disconnected. The dashboard, except it is another camry of the same year will not fit. Best of luck.

Here would be zero return on investment on a project like this. Contracted, with ample know-how, tools, and cash you can do anything but the only real benefit to a hybrid is fuel state. You’ll never make back what you’ll place into the car on the fuel savings.

    No, not value it.
