General Motors provides the dealers a schedule on the end and start of the production of each model of vehicles for the current and the following year usually. This year’s model guide is really an exciting one for the dealers as we’ll as the GM lovers. The Chevy Volt will come last of this 2010.
The Chevy Volt is the company’s Hybrid Electric car that can create its own electricity and can run up to 40 miles on that charge only without any consumption of gasoline or any emissions. Volt has a range-extending gas generator which is capable of giving the car enough energy to power it for another hundreds of miles.
According to the model guide for the dealers, the 2011 model Volt will start its production 1st November of 2010. The final allocation date on the guide is November 17th and the dealer order submission is on 18th. With no surprise there are questions regarding the dates, showing the delay of 2010 Equinox and 2010 Camaro, but still it is exciting.
Another interesting thing about Chevy Volt is the OnStar application as shown off the Blackberry, Android and iPhone which can control the car. Using this application, when the car is connected to the phone, you can see the charging status, lock and unlock the car, start it up, honk the horn all from your handset if only you are an OnStar subscriber.
