I’ve stopped listening to left wingers and amazingly enough Global Warming has gone away.
I recycle everything possible…….
I want to buy a hybrid in the near future…..
I make sure all of my appliances are energy efficient……I use my own canvas grocery bag…..
So I guess, I don’t do all that much =(
Avoiding the the Weather Channel they are obsessed with it.
At the rate gas prices are going, people are going to start working at home , stop taking vacations and enroll in classes on line to avoid driving all together.
when i get a car, i would love to have a hybrid. And right now i am beginning to switch to the bulb that are environment friendly. And i am campaigning among friends and family, the importance to conserve energy. And unlike before, now when i do not need the lights being on, i turn it off. Everything matters, really.
I’m eating the cows that create all the methane gas. Well, I can’t eat much, but hey, I’m trying!!!
Personally, I try to plan my activities so I dont use a lot of resources. Some of these include:
1. Drive less. I try to combine errands in one trip.
2. Buying in bulk for products that I use a lot such as shampoo, soap, food, etc. to save money and containers.
3. My house is pretty well-insulated that it does not take too much energy to keep it warm during winter and cool during summer.
4. Properly maintain my small car, eg check tires frequently and get an oil change often.
5. Try to amuse myself with simple activities like reading a book from the library, playing with my dog, experimental cooking, learning to fix things around the house (ugh, plumbing is such a challenge). Haven’t been to a mall in over three years and voila, I’ve been able to control my tendency to purchase things unnecessarily.
I would consider hybrid vehicles if I were in the market for a car. I dont know if ethanol will stop air pollution. Hmmm, that’s another interesting topic to discuss.
I bought a Prius, which is one of the lowest CO2-emitting cars in the US.
I wrapped my water heater in a blanket for insulation.
I replaced my lightbulbs with CFLs (compact fluorescent lightbulbs).
I replaced my old fridge with an Energy Star model.
I keep my thermostat set at 81 F in the summer and around 60 F in the winter.
I got an electric lawn mower.
I planted trees in my front and back yards.
I turn off lights and otherwise conserve electricity whenever possible.
I bicycle to work.
I installed a bamboo floor rather than hardwood, because bamboo replenishes in approximately 5 years rather than 50 years for hardwood trees.
A vehicle that uses ethanol doesn’t have lower CO2 emissions than a gasoline-burning car though. Hybrids are the way to go.
I have 2 SUVs and a Lexus LS400 and I love driving all of them every chance I get.
I’m not going to let someone stop me from driving them. Its my ride, my gas, my life… quit trying to rule the world
Oh my God- – -one of the answerers planted trees. Trees produce CO2 – a GREENHOUSE GAS!!!! Stop killing the earth!!!!
He bought an ELECTRIC LAWN MOWER? Electricity is mainly produced by Coal – the burning of which produces GREENHOUSE GASES!
Call Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi and have that man arrested!!!
Tell farmers about sustainable farming ,water harvesting and organic pest control,
Talk to kids about Environmental awareness

The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods
Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio
Have citizan meetings
Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,
If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned,why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,
We have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)
than your efforts are a waste of time.

POSITIVE ACTIONS
Print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)
Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash
70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .
And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground
And it is the easiest to take care of
o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid
If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper,bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell
the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .
If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,
Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist
This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

If you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes
Reduce carbon emisions,and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials,aerosol cans,burning rubbish,industrial chimneys,powerplants etc.
The capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
The world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
The protection of existing forrests.
Stop building more highways,urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
Education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
Education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´population
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
More environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires,such as–fire breaks
More dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
Alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
Recicling wastes,limit water use

i am recycling everything i can, conserving use of electricity, driving less and walking and biking more, i would buy a hybrid after they become more available and less expensive and start being sold used

I offer my explaination and solution:
It has been said that the temperature on Earth is getting hotter. In Al Gore’s; “Inconvenient Truth,” I heard that a footnote stated; “The Sun is getting hotter” (I have not seen the documentary or read anything on his findings). In DVM’s; “Inconvenient Fact,” I heard that the temperature on Mars is getting hotter. At this point in time, I know of no humans living on Mars. Why is the temperature on Mars getting hotter? The Sun is getting hotter. How can we stop Global Warming? Keep in mind; I’m not saying that the Sun is the only reason for “Global Warming,” we have all polluted the Earth. Reducing pollution and conserving energy should be a goal of everyone.
My SOLUTION for Global Warming:
NASA sends a “Sun Shield” with memory metal into space. When deployed, the memory metal will stretch the shield into a large circle or a square. The space shuttle’s astronauts will put the shield into orbit at a location that will block some of the Sun’s rays over a spot on the ocean. This will decrease the Sun’s rays that hit the Earth. Thus, decreasing the surface and ocean temperatures. Because of the decrease in ocean temperature, the number of hurricanes should decrease. Yes, there are more benefits. The size, number of shields, and locations need to be determined. Again, we all need to decrease pollution and conserve on energy.
