Did you know that you can save fuel and run your car on water

hybrid cars

SlenderMillie asked:

I’m at a point in life where I can buy a new car. I really want to be conscientious and get a Prius, but I heard that there is a chance of being electrocuted if it rains a lot. Is that true? That scared me.

I find that hard to believe. But a Prius is not the only hybrid car. If you heard bad things about it, shop the other hybrid cars on the market.

  2. Dennis says:

No not really. Although it would be dangerous if you were to accidentally drive it into a body of water like a pond or a flooded area.

  3. dana1981 says:

That’s a ridiculous myth. You’re no more likely to be electrocuted than in any other car.

  4. rich2481 says:

the only thing is they are small, hence not good in a accident,, but that is a chance you take with any small car,

All cars have batteries…I’m sure this is not a problem. Otherwise, we’de have a LOT of dead hybrid drivers.

  6. BillyTheKid says:

Only if the plug on the extension cord gets wet! And if the power goes out in your neighborhood, your car will quit running! And of course you can never wash the car either.

I’ve had mine for 2+ years, not even static during that time. Love it – it is peppy and love the low gas bills I now have.

    not true –

the Prius is safer than most cars in the rain because of the traction control systems, it just powers ’round corners where others are getting all sideways.

Why do people feel so threatend by hybrids or electric vehicles? the amount of totally rubbish stories like this that go about is unbelivable.
There are no user accesible high voltage electrical contacts. Even the spark plugs are well covered – unlike the old Minis with the High tension distributer cap poking out the front.

The prius is a great driving experience, just smooth & relaxed. I have done 30,000 miles in 2 years & recon its the best car I’ve ever had. Not as good a pure ev perhaps, but as they are not really available the prius is next best thing.

you should find there is also a local Yahoo Prius group for you to ask any questions – I think they would be interestred in seeing this one.

thats dumb….whoever you heard that from is dumb. there is moree electricity going through the prius than other cars, but other cars do have a battery too. your about as likely to get electrocuted from a prius as you are any other normal car.

If your worried about electrocution from the prius how bout being blown up at any second in a normal car because of the tank full of highly flammable liquid your running around with……works both ways
